Microneedle therapy (also referred to as Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)  is one the newest, easiest and most effective skin treatments available and is a process which can be carried out clinically. Skin Needling or Micro-Needling is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy which is intended to significantly improve the appearance of acne scars, aged and sun damaged skin, facial and décolleté lines, wrinkles and stretch marks. It is also said to be useful in dramatically increasing absorption of topically applied skin preparations.

After the procedure the client's skin may be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. The client will also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. After 3 days there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place.

Our skin benefits from a number of sessions but you will start to see results after one.

​Patients who should NOT be treated:

  • Those who have recovered from any form of illness within the last week.

  • Individuals with active inflammation, congestion, spots, cold sores or warts.

  • Individuals with open wounds, sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea in the area to be treated.

  • Individuals with a history of allergies, rashes or other skin reactions; or if you are sensitive to infections.

  • Individuals who have taken Accutane/Roaccutane within the past year, or have received chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding (lactating).

  • Individuals who have any history of herpes simplex.

  • Individuals who are run down, or suffering from illness or have immune system-related diseases.

  • Take any form of medication that triggers your immune system.

 

Preparation​

One Week Before

Avoid these products and/or procedures prior to your Micro-needling treatment:

  • Electrolysis

  • Waxing

  • Depilatory creams

  • IPL/Laser/LHE

  • Please inform the aesthetician if you are having any other procedure over the treatment area. This may affect your suitability for treatment.

Two to three days before stop using:

  • Retin-A.

  • Any products containing Retinol, AHA or BHAs or benzyl peroxide.

  • Any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating.

  • Any harsh products or procedures over the treatment area.

Less is more. Therefore, we advise you to nourish and treat the area with caution and sensitivity.
