Pregnancy & Skin Care

Good evening darlings

How are you? I have been getting a lot of messages asking what is safe to have whilst pregnant, so this is what I wanted to touch on today.

I'm going to go through some (not all) ingredients that I think you need in your skin care regime and also what facials you are able to have whilst pregnant.

Im going to jump right in: some of the products are available on look fantastic and i have a discount code that gives you 20% off, just enter: LFTFHANNAHC at checkout
Ingredients:

Kojic Acid: This helps to combat melasma and hyperpigmentation during pregnancy. Melasma is often triggered by pregnancy as it’s caused by the overproduction of cells that make up the colour of your skin which causes you to have brown or grey patches on your face. It can look like a small or big cluster of freckles. We will touch on melasma in more depth in another blog post.

Beta glucan: Targets dry skin, redness and inflammation. Great to have in your bathroom cupboard - I use this pre period week as one of my side effects is inflammation of the nose!

Recommendation: clinicare pure serum step 3: https://www.hannahcurlitabeauty.com/products/cliniccare-x3m-egf-pure-serum-step-3

Hyaluronic acid: This is produced by your body naturally so adding this in gives your skin a MASSIVE boost of hydration 😍. To be honest you should have this product in your skin care routine forever! It reduces fine lines and wrinkles and increases skin cell production.

Glycolic Acid: This is a personal fave of mine - great for us dark skin girls! It exfoliates, reduces fine lines and wrinkles and fades dark spots and evens out skin tone. Bonus - its great for smoothing the texture of your skin too!

Vitamin C: The perfect skin brightener and a great antioxidant! Antioxidants are safe to use whilst pregnant. Give yourself a little boost by having and green tea with a slice or orange in it - this is my holiday morning drink - dead refreshing. If there is one thing to have whilst pregnant is vitamin c, it helps fight off all the damage from the environment on your skin.

Product recommendation - dermaquest vitamin c serum

There are more ingredients out there but I just wanted to give you a few I think are really important.
